Volunteer with the Adikentibay Offline Learning Corner

Volunteering at Meskot is just beginning, with the first Offline Learning Corner, at Adikentibay Complete Primary School in Shire.

The corner is being prepared with the school and the community: families took part in a community orientation and 13 teachers were trained in May 2026. As it opens, Meskot is looking for people who would like to help.

What volunteers do

  • Set up and pack away the television, USB drives and materials.
  • Welcome children into their grade groups and help the youngest follow the lessons.
  • Take attendance and keep the lesson records.
  • Support the teacher, as the second adult in the room: no adult is ever alone with the children.

Volunteers who work with children follow Meskot's child safeguarding policy.

Partner with us

Meskot's work depends on the schools, communities and organizations it works with.

  • Schools and communities

An Offline Learning Corner is hosted by an existing school or community center. The host provides the space and helps identify the children who most need it; Meskot provides the lessons and equipment, trains the teacher and follows up.

  • Organizations

Organizations working with children in Tigray can work with Meskot to bring its Tigrinya lessons to the schools and communities they support, online or offline.

  • Foundations and funders

Foundations, companies and other funders can support a program, a learning corner or the production of new lessons.

Contribute as an educator

Meskot's lessons are made by experienced teachers from Tigray.

Teachers who know the curriculum, the language and the children prepare and present each of Meskot's video lessons, in Tigrinya.

If you are a teacher in Tigray, or a professional whose skills could help Meskot make and share its lessons, we would like to hear from you. Tell us what you teach or what you do, and how you would like to contribute.
